Hi! My alias is Mordecai SpicyFox, and I started this blog in September 2025 to record my food experiences. I mainly am interested in food around my home country, Singapore, and my second home, Vietnam. I might also write about food experiences in other countries that I do happen to visit too.

I am, by trade, a food journalist for another media company in Singapore. I primarily write about food news such as new restaurant openings, do honest food reviews, and write food listicles and guides. My website was started to document the experiences of my food adventures that I do not get to write about at my workplace.

I am by no means a “qualified” food critic, and my writings only seek to share my experiences and opinions to interested audiences. Unlike my actual writings at my company, my website will offer diary-style recollections of my dining experiences, and insights from my own lens, while also refraining from being too harsh. If I had any overtly negative experiences, be rest assured that I would have conveyed that feedback to the restaurant. Do note that all of my opinions and experiences are subjective, and your mileage may vary when it comes to your own preferences.

Due to the nature of my work, I do get invited to media tastings for restaurants, but most of my writings will be based on organic visits. However, I absolutely do not accept free tastings or gratuity in exchange for positive reviews or guaranteed coverage, nor do I endorse the practice. All media tastings will be noted at the bottom of the article.
